Before I begin this story, It might be a good ideat to give you a quick idea of who we are: a boy and a girl in their twenties, graduates with just a couple of years of work experience, travel lovers and definitely not too romantic.
But then we had to get married...Yes, HAD to. It is one of those things that comes with that fancy word of 'Expatriation'. One is 'the expat' of this story, the other 'the partner'. Obviously I am the latter.
The problem is that without marriage, a partner does not exist by US law. So, these two life loving disromantics had to do the most romantic thing there is in this world, in order to go on an adventure that might actually just be the ultimate example of settling down: they had to get married.
We started this 'horrendous' part of our journey abroad with a very modest plan: with a simple signature and a dinner with the parents. Soon, however, this idea grew bigger and bigger (of course we cannot invite this aunt and not that one) and eventually we had a whole day planned, from ceremony to reception, from fancy car to big party, the whole Shabam.
It turned out to be, in all honesty, one of the best days of my life so far. And I don't mean because of all that L O V E in the air, but most of all because of the big get together of friends and family from all over the country. It wasn't just a celebration, it was also a beautiful farewell. A joyous occation to celebrate this opportunity abroad, instead of being sad about it (apparently we are going to be missed by some...).
One of the per

ks of Expatriation, apparently.
